Special mention should be made of the contribution of amateur astronomers to the identification of some doubtful systems by visual or photographic observations (the `Commission des Etoiles Doubles' of the Société Astronomique de France, and the German group coordinated by the Astronomisches Rechen-Institut in Heidelberg). These new data have been included in the CCDM since 1984.
